LoTS finale thoughts

So the season (series?) finale of "Legend of the Seeker" aired tonight, and I have lots of thoughts:
As a whole, I've liked season 2 of Seeker, better than the first. Mostly because of the wonderfully snarky addition of Cara to the cast. Richard and Kahlan continued to be the most adorable canon couple on tv, and them and Cara are basically my OT3. I ♥ them. A lot.
However, I found myself disappointed with the finale. I'm glad that it didn't end on some cliffhanger that would make us want to cry because of the possible unlikelihood of a third season, but as a whole, I just wasn't satisfied.
- What was with making an AU an episode before the finale at all? They already kind of did that in the first season finale, and I usually dislike whenever a show actually creates an AU, and then reverts back to the original within an episode.
- On the subject of AU: So the sole people making a decision on whether to return to the original timeline are Kahlan and Zedd. Do they take into account that hundreds, maybe thousands of people are now alive because they haven't been slaughtered by Banelings? That war hasn't torn D'Hara apart? Yes, I know that Darken has the power of Orden, but surely they could disrupt that, and never even tear the veil in the first place. And what about Cara's kids? I'm pretty sure AU!Cara would never sacrifice her kids, so that she could be tortured as a child and be evil for most of her life in another timeline.
- Nicci. Oh how I missed her :) She was completely badass in her new black dress, something I've been waiting for since she was introduced. I was a huge fan of the books before I got into the show, and Nicci was a favorite of mine, so I've been waiting for her trademarked black dress to make an appearance. (And now I'm waiting for some good Nicci/Kahlan fic to appear) I never thought when I watched the promos that Kahlan would be going into Con Dar for Nicci, which was genius :)
- "Who's in charge here?" Oh Cara, this is why you're my favorite ♥
- Verna!!!! I love her so much and actually giggled when she appeared :) Also, did anyone else notice her new haircut? She looks good ;)
- Dahlia never existing. Or something like that anyways. I'm not against the whole 'Change Dahlia's past to get Cara back' because I can't begrudge Dahlia a life free of being kidnapped and tortured, I was just confused as to how Cara is exactly the same. One of the longest relationships Cara's had (whether romantic or just as friends) now never happened, and Dahlia was exceptionally important when they were younger, helping each other get through the breaking process. I just can't believe that Cara would be the same person without that friendship in her life.
- Kahlan crying = new Stone of Tears. I nearly laughed. They spent a full 20 episodes looking for the stone (though Cara would say that they spent most of that time saving innocent children and helpless animals) and it turns out that Kahlan can just make them when she cries over Richard? Hasn't she done that before? There should be like 15 Stone of Tears lying around the Midlands and D'Hara now LOL.
- R/K's EPIC LOVE!!! I love R/K, let me just say that first. However, I found the whole 'The greatest magic is love' thing to be a little overdone in this episode. As a book fan, I enjoyed how the immunity to confession was played out in 'Wizard's First Rule' as it was a much larger plot point, and kind of a surprise. Also, the shot of Richard and Kahlan making out while Cara looks away uncomfortably just makes me sad. Cara has no one besides these two; people run in fear of her and she has issues with feelings in any case and she just spends all her time trying to live up to what they want and need from her. And now of her two love interests, one is dead and the other never existed for her as far as she knows :(
- Declan. That kid was adorable, I couldn't keep a smile off my face when he was on screen, even if he was being evil, I just couldn't help myself.
- I liked that fact that Darken threw his support behind Richard, even if it was for his own benefit. And I really want to know what he's going to do with Nicci now that he has her captive. Because with the Rada'Han on, she can't use her considerable magic, and unlike a Confessor, Darken can't simply command her once he takes it off. That's a tricky situation.
- Kahlan in ConDar. It shouldn't be so hot, and yet it is. Bridget Regan really sells it, and she is scary as hell.
- Dahlia. I really wish there was a season 3 coming that would have the gang (hee) meet up with a Dahlia that never became a Mord'Sith. It would be interesting to see how her and Cara interact (and if Kahlan would still act like a jealous girlfriend)
